Chris Leidy may be Lilly Pulitzer’s grandson, but don’t show up for a date with the single 34-year-old hunk sporting his grandma’s preppy wares. “She’s out! It just doesn’t do it for me,” says Leidy, an underwater photographer with 150 tattoos who launches his Chelsea studio next month. The fotog was stoked to ditch Palm Beach for Manhattan this fall. I like to kind of be weird, and it’s the acceptable thing up here.” He’s still flirting with fashion, considering transposing his po prints onto clothing. “I feel like when I shoot close-up, abstract stuff, it’s very texture-oriented and textile, pattern-y, so it is very Granny,” he tells Threads. He always keeps his legendary grandmother (who died in 2013, at the age of 81) close — through her words or the occasional vintage men’s Lilly shirt. “She always said to be your own person. Don’t follow the trend . . . Have fun — it’s always about having fun.”
